Terms of Use

The rules for using the MedSpañol app, and what it is and is not.

Drafted 2026-08-09 · no effective date

What this app is

The MedSpañol app is a companion to care you receive at the clinic. You can book and manage visits, complete your intake, message the clinic, follow your progress program and earn Beats.

It is not medical care. Using it does not by itself create a clinician-patient relationship and it does not replace a visit with {doctor}.

Emergencies

The app is not monitored in real time. Call 911, or your local emergency number, for chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of a stroke, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness, or thoughts of harming yourself. Medbits is built to tell you the same thing and to not offer a routine appointment instead.

Medbits

  • Medbits gives health education only. It is built so that it cannot diagnose you, prescribe, name a dose, or turn your results into a verdict — and the clinic's own instructions to it cannot override that safety floor.
  • Its answers can still be wrong or incomplete. Decisions about your care belong to you and your clinician.
  • If the clinic enables the personalized mode, what you type in that conversation is sent to an AI provider. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is and is not sent.

Your account

  • One account per person, tied to a phone number or email address you control. Keep them secure: anyone who can receive your login code can reach your health information.
  • Give accurate information. The clinic relies on your intake to care for you.
  • Do not use someone else's account and do not enter someone else's health information as your own.
  • Extra verified phone numbers or email addresses can be linked to a single account by the clinic. They are never added from something a user types.

Text messages

  • A login code is sent only after you check the consent box for the exact number shown, and that consent covers only that sign-in attempt — it expires in 30 minutes.
  • Appointment reminders are a separate opt-in that you control in your profile.
  • Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help and STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Appointments, deposits and cancellations

  • Booking in the app requests a time on the clinic's schedule. The clinic can move or cancel a visit.
  • The clinic sets a cancellation cut-off. Inside that window the app asks the front desk to handle the change instead of doing it silently.
  • The app supports a per-visit deposit through Stripe, but no deposit is configured today, so none is charged. If that changes, the amount always comes from the clinic's own configuration, never from your device.
  • Fees for care, and any no-show or late-cancellation policy, are between you and the clinic. This app does not set them, and this draft does not state them.

Beats and rewards

  • Beats are a loyalty balance inside the app. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be transferred to another person.
  • Some rewards are marked medical and need your provider's approval before they can be claimed.
  • The ways to earn and the reward catalog can change. Balances and past redemptions are kept in a ledger.
  • Whether a rewards program of this kind may be offered alongside health care, and on what terms, is one of the compliance reviews the clinic has not finished.

Acceptable use

Do not try to reach another patient's information, probe or overload the service, automate sign-in attempts, or submit content you have no right to submit. The clinic may suspend an account being used that way.

Availability

The app is provided as-is during the pilot. Features can change or be switched off, and the app can be unavailable. Nothing here promises a level of uptime. When a service the app depends on is unavailable, the app is built to refuse the action and say so rather than guess.

Liability, disputes and governing law

Still to be drafted with the clinic's counsel. This draft deliberately contains no limitation of liability, no disclaimer of warranties beyond the plain statements above, no arbitration clause and no choice of law — and none should be read into it.

Changes and contact

This draft has no effective date and does not bind anyone. Questions go to the clinic's front desk until a reviewed version with contact details is published.
